How Norwegian Getaway’s call works

Norwegian ships tender into George Town on Western Caribbean routes. Freestyle timing means passengers spread out through the day - boats and lunch tables are easiest to get before 11am.

From the tender landing: the duty-free strip is across the road, Fort George and the National Museum are minutes north along the harbour, and the waterfront restaurants sit over the water two to six minutes on foot. No shuttle, no transport - the town is the port.

The three plays

Short call or slow morning: the 3-hour George Town plan - harbour walk, museum, the tax-free cases at IDC Cayman and lunch over the water at SeaRock, all on foot.

Five hours or more: the Stingray City sprint - the famous sandbar is roughly three hours door to door from the terminal. Book before you sail; port-day slots go first.

Long call: the Seven Mile Beach day - taxi out (10-15 min, set fare), swim the Caribbean’s most reliable beach, then town, shopping and an early dinner on the way back to the tender.

Back-aboard maths

Tenders queue in the late afternoon when several ships share the anchorage. Be at the landing 60-90 minutes before Norwegian Getaway’s all-aboard time, and if you book an independent boat trip, give the operator your all-aboard when you book - the good ones plan the return leg around it.
